Brasils, now Encore is one of Philly's best known spots for Latin dancing, right in the heart of Olde City. The best Latin nights are Mondays for Mambo, Salsa and Cha Cha & Wednesdays for Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha & Merengue. Fridays & Saturdays are the days when you'll find some pro and student dancers, but mostly casual attendees. If you're more serious about dancing you'll want to stop by this club on Monday nights or, Wednesdays. The music is usually spot-on, the drinks are affordable and you may even catch a performance. Many of the local dance teams do preview performances at this club before going on to compete. It's always a great joy to see these! You may want to bring an extra t-shirt in the summer time, as this club is small, the air-conditioning is fair at best, and the dancers really move!
